sms to friend from his mum

A friend received this message yesterday, by text from is mum - it was the day of the inquest of his father's inquest.

He has attempted to be NC with his mum.

Now everything is over with I can finally say that I was so relieved when you sacked us. You have been and always will be, an unpleasant lazy knobhead with a giant chip on your shoulder and sashh is no better.

AIBU to think normal parents don't send things like this to their kids even when they are grown up and live away?

What? NC is definitely the path to pursue.

BoneyBackJefferson · 06/02/2016 11:57

with a text like that you can see why NC is the way forward.

DoJo · 06/02/2016 13:24

It sounds like going NC is the best thing for both of them.

My SIL received the same types of message from her mother over 10 years ago. To this day to still gets one a year ranging from hurtful lies, name calling, last one inferred that she slept with customers to get work for her husbands company. Still she does not block the number as she says knowing her mother is thinking of her (even to abuse her) makes her still feel loved.
Seeing this effect, I would advise your friend to block her number and seek councelling

mommy2ash · 06/02/2016 15:59

Why were you dragged into it? What does sack mean? And is your friend a lazy knobhead?

If it's all lies then nc is definitely the way to go.

sashh · 07/02/2016 05:06

Sack means nc, no idea why I was dragged in to it, in the follow up sms I'm a 'fat scrounger' ie I'm disabled and no he's not lazy but can, on occasion, be a knobhead, as can anyone.

It's funny I received a text with similar meaning to this from my dad, haven't spoken to him since despite my mums insistence I should try because everyone should know their dad (they've been divorced since I was 3). I do he's an unsympathic controlling bully, best thing I've done as adult is go NC.

NC is the only way to go it will make your friend happier and maybe more secure in the relationships he does have.
