I have come home to a letter addressed to the neighbourhood losers.

I know I shouldn't have opened it but it was addressed to my address. Turns out I did the right thing.

They've taxed a van to my address! How can they do this? I have lived here for 14 years and they have never lived here.

It's definitely not a mistake, they purposely did this to my address. Now I'm wondering if the van is registered to my house.

Does anyone know how I find this out?

Also Aibu if I poke them in the eye?

Return documents to dvla as unknown at this address etc

Contact the DVLA and tell them what their real address is.

I called the dvla to let them know and they're going to investigate.

I'm panicking about my new tax credits claim in case they think they live here.

Also what else have they got to my address

I would think about reviewing your credit file if I were you - I'm sure if you look on MoneySavingExpert it'll tell you how to check it. (Experian etc.) Just in case they've used your address for credit cards/loans/finance agreements...

What made you jump to the conclusion this was fraudulent rather than an admin error?

These people are well known around these parts. They've done this sort of thing before to other people.
