Yes. I empathise. I don't have any advice as I have worked myself into a heart condition and don't recommend going that far!

Yep, id love to go part time and have more time at home with the kids plus not work so late then be up early leaving me knackered

Unfortunately my rent and bills won't pay themselves though!

FourEyesGood · 24/01/2016 00:33

It's shit being a grown-up, isn't it?

VimFuego101 · 24/01/2016 00:34

How many hours do you mean when you say 'all the time'?

Diamogs · 24/01/2016 00:35

YANBU that sounds tough Flowers

Mabelface · 24/01/2016 00:37

Yes. The way my hours work leave me little or no time to socialise, apart from the odd week day when my friends are actually at work. It's shite.

Babyroobs · 24/01/2016 00:40

I'm currently in the process of upping my hours to 4 days a week from three. I really don't want to do it as I have 4 kids and do shift work nights/ weekends etc which is really tiring. I'm dreading it but dh's job is at risk and I feel I need to secure extra hours in case he loses his job.

^^ This
I am exhausted from working, I get home and sleep, no life at all.
I hate it. But mortgage and bills.

Dorris83 · 24/01/2016 12:14

I hear you, Working sucks, being a grown up sucks.
how old are the DCs? Do you have a respite from the free childcare hours to look forward to?

BinaryFinary · 24/01/2016 12:24

Yup. I hear you. I work all week and weekends are spent trying to catch up with the cleaning / laundry / household admin and no time for fun. It's shit

GloriousSlug · 24/01/2016 12:27

I know exactly how you feel. I work 50 hours a week over two jobs and I'm a single mum of two. I'm lucky to have great family support but I constantly feel exhausted and guilty that I hardly ever see my kids.

Being a grown up is rubbish.

alltouchedout · 24/01/2016 12:27

YANBU. Being a grownup is not the fun I thought it must be as a child. It's all paid work, housework and worrying.
