To worry that he feels patronised?

My dcat is 10 years old and in cat years probably senior to me (relevant).

My compliment of choice to him is crooning sweet nothings in his little cat ear, like "you're such a good boy", "aren't you clever".

It has recently come to my attention that I may be unwittingly patronising him and therefore damaging his self-esteem.

Thoughts?

It probably doesn't matter. He knows he's superior to you anyway.

I am not sure a simple servant owner as yourself could damage a cats self esteem
