DS2.2 .... Waking frequently through the night for last 7 days, never used to.

He's now throwing the biggest fucking tantrum because ...... THE WALL SOCKET WON'T COME OFF THE WALL?

Sorry you've had a rough week. My second son was a terrible sleeper and I sympathise hugely.

This too shall pass! He's two, tough age.

Do you have any time to yourself, anyone who looks after him or gives you a break?

I have a 2.3 year old dd and she has started waking through the night again too. I wonder if it's a developmental phase?

I used to feel like I'd had a full day by about 9am.

I'm not a Single Parent but I can imagine how shit it is to not have someone to offload the child your emotions onto .

Positive - I was just thinking how nice it would be to have someone to tag team with on the nights and to then say you get a couple of hours now, I'll deal with everything.

No tantrums yet but dd isn't well, it's been a week of no more than 2 hours straight sleep and multiple wake ups. She has eye drops she needs, and they cause meltdowns repeatedly and she's sprung a temperature too, which means I have to battle calpol administration too.

I'm starting to get cabin fever at having been in most the week. Although, honestly, probably too tired to actually do anything else.

Sympathies and coffee being passed along and here's to hoping it passes bloody quickly

It's the wall socket that's tipped me over this morning, I mean for the love of postman pat I can't TAKE OFF the wall socket!?! Or can I just to prove a point (joke!!!)

I'm 39 in 2 months ...... I'm hiding in the bathroom because I can't deal with a wall socket. It's now 7:23.

For those with waking toddlers - they might be cold? It's freezing at the moment. Also I always used to slink them into bed with me if they woke before 6.30 ish and they'd go back to sleep for an hour or so once they had the comfort and warm of me next to them.

I don't know whether to laugh, cry, drink gin or ignore the entire situation

I don't know how single parents do it! When my DH is away I really struggle with the toddler and baby.

Yesterday despite being over tired and resisting a nap for an hour, the second I went to get them they shouted that they wanted to sleep so I had to leave them alone and slammed the door in my face. Le sigh.

can you distract him with big arm movements? we were influcenced by supernanny episodes when ours were that age. They are now bigger, but still joke about the big arm movements when dealing with teenagers or nearly teenagers.

My toddler has told me that she wakes because she wants mummy and wants to be in mummys bed. She isn't cold. I was thinking it must be some sort of clingy phase as she is quite a mummys girl all the time at the minute. I have got a bit fed up of hearing 'me want mummy' when I'm 5 foot away from her.

This is the longest my two Ds 2 Dd 1 have slept all week :( weve been up since 6 daddy was going to take a turn but that was only if they woke at 3 again they did but daddy ignored so i soothed them back to sleep.
Ds has tantrumed because i asked him to put socks on as its cold Dd is tantruming cos i wont give her the laptop charger :( Surely its all a dream?

Yeesh! Sounds tough. for you. Have you tried some early morning cartoons as a distraction from the plug socket? I mean I know nothing can compete with the awesomeness of a plug socket , but worth a go maybe.

We have ID twin boys who are 2.3
They have slept through for over 18 months. Until the past 2 weeks when they have been waking at 2am to play. Every night when my DP is working nights. When we're both home they sleep perfectly yet when I'm alone they wake wanting to play or watch Hey fucking Dugee. I'm beginning to hate Alexander Armstrong!

Last night DS (almost 18 mo) slept through for only about the 4th bloody time in his life.

To make up for us getting some respite, DD (almost 2.7), had a very rare 5am waking. And I've been awake ever since. Marvellous! :-/

We've set the heating to come on for an hour at about 1am but it's still getting cold in the bedrooms. Might increase that.

Lost my shit yesterday with our demon 2.5y ds. I thought he was with dh, dh thought he was with me. (both in the house not out and about lol) the little git had locked himself in our room and had emptied my makeup bag all over our white duvet. Then coloured it the duvet cover and every fucking inch of himself in red lipstick. Not just any red lipstick. . Its the 16hour stuff. Used my eyeliners and eyebrow pencils as crayons and broke my powders and eyeshadows. I had to walk off and take a deep breath. A very deep breath.

This morning he's still asleep. He's usually up at stupid o'clock. Must've exhausted all his brilliant plans yesterday
