Is it me or is there a new post every day asking MNers to help 'us' decide which name to choose?

Back in the day when I had mine we borrowed a book from the library and chose a name and that was the end of it. I find it really odd that people want the opinions of strangers on such a personal and important decision.

Ok so I'm old fashioned....but really......

There's a whole topic for it.

Those who want opinions, ask. Those that don't, hide the topic.

Those who expect only 'oh that's lovely hun' compliments are a bit doomed though.

Everybody should be called Ethyl. That would stop this nonsense.
