To shove it back through his letter box?

I've just watched a neighbour collect his wheelie bin from the footpath. They were emptied this morning. But before he took it back, he tipped it upside down and shook out a McDonald's bag and a small juice bottle onto the footpath.

A woman walking by gave him the most incredible stare down, so he picked up the bottle, and back he went, leaving the McD's bag.

WIBU to shove it back through his letterbox?

I get that it's probably not his and someone walking past dumped it, but hey, they didn't drop it on the path. And it was one bag. I know it's annoying, but come on! Hardly going to break the bin is it.

I would love to know what thought processes he went to to decide that tipping it out on the footpath was the right thing to do.

If I'd got my act together a bit quicker rather than standing like a goldfish I would have stuck my head and suggested he could put it in our bin if it bothered him so much.

Go and knock on his door with a sickly sweet smile on your face, and ask him to "Do please feel free to use our bin, if you find rubbish in yours that's not to your taste". Shameful bugger!

I once caught a middle aged man throwing a plastic bottle into the canal overflow, and when I asked him why he did it he said he wanted to see where the water went! I could understand his curiosity but I reminded him that as he was unable to retreive the bottle that it would end up where the water ends up...in the river. He looked ashamed but, honestly, what was he thinking?!

Sadly it had blown away, else I would have. Cheeky sod. I genuinely wanted to applaud the lady who stared him down. She was fabulous.

I did something similar once at our old house. Neighbours son had a paper round for the local free paper, but instead of delivering one week decided to dump a the pile of papers at my back gate which ended all over the green and street at the back of the house due to the wind. It looked like it had been me that dumped them Initially so I went out and collected every last sheet of those newspapers and chucked them over the neighbours back gate. Young lad never dumped them again.

I was waiting for the lift with my son in my building the other week. A guy came along smoking and i reckon was going to get in the lift with his cigarette but thought better of it. He stubbed it out on the wall and threw it on the floor. I said "you might want to pick that up" his reponse "there are cleaners for that"

It's obviously a very idiotic and annoying thing to do. But I think posting it through his letterbox would be a bit much, as it wasn't actually his rubbish in the first place. I would have just gone out and put it in my own bin.

May not be his rubbish, but he was the one to drop it on the floor.
