To be really excited about working next week

I usually do all school drop offs and pick ups, we only have one DS 9.

Next week DH is off work and DS is off school and I'm in until 23rd.

I'm absolutely thrilled to just be getting myself into work that I'm more excited about it than being off, or indeed Christmas.

Is this odd?

I'd rather be off! It's manic and I'm not quite ready for Christmas (plus I can't visit my family boo hoo).

I don't think it sounds odd at all. I hope you have a great week.

Actually I won't miss the 1:45 hrs commute each way, to do school run and get to work!

I know how you feel. Life seems so much easier in the school hols

YANBU. I volunteered to work Boxing Day so I could avoid going to family this year. I cant bloody wait.

Foxessoxes - I'm a little disappointed I had enough leave left that it would have looked strange if I didn't take the time off in between.

Funny I was thinking the same thing earlier!! I can get up later and just get myself ready. No chivving, no dressing other people, no getting breakfasts. Time to get a coffee on the way in.

I understand what you're saying.

I'm glad to be off though. Enjoy your week.
