Does my phone have a virus

Sorry not sure where to post this. I have a s6. Every now and then when I am browsing the internet I get directed to some Facebook page saying I have won something and usually the only way to exit is to close the tab.

This happens on various websites. Any ideas / suggestions?

Avast and Malwarebytes both do free versions for Android, use them both, Not sure if I'm allowed to post the links here? But here they are;

I have AVG the free one but it is saying I don't have a virus. I just don't understand why I keep getting redirected to spam websites

This kept happening to me, too but only when I was on mumsnet. It seems to have stopped now. Fingers crossed it stays away.

There was a problem with ads on Mumsnet redirecting to spam and porn sites a while ago.

This is happening to me on iPad and iPhone on safari - I've tried shutting down & restarting but it keeps coming back. Would love to know how to get rid of it...

yes, it's a virus and those apps don't 'detect' it. I had to take mine in to the repair shop to get wiped clean - cost about £25 but well worth it.

save all your photos etc before you take it in as everything will be wiped clean and the whole thing reset.

tell the repair shop it's a virus and show them the pop up...otherwise they might just do a basic reset which you can easily do yourself.
