Taking lovely dsc home today.
Us to dss (15)- "do you have everything, wallet, bag, jacket, phone, keys etc etc"
Dss- "yes yes yes yes.." Thoughts of Xbox Xbox Xbox no doubt!

Us-"double check just incase!!!")
The dsc have previous for forgetting stuff they need at home)

Get to dsc house (about 40 mins from us) dsc mum not home.

Dss- "oh I've left my key in my jumper. At your house."

Aaaaaaaarrrrgh

The best bit was his defence though..

"guira was hoovering earlier and she must have moved my jumper.."

Ah so it's my fault then. Good to know

He sounds like my Dh - and he's 43!

Haha it's defiantly his dad he gets it from.
I thought it was brilliant how it was my fault because I had been hoovering, and picked HIS jumper
Off the floor to hoover under it..
His dad quickly told him to have a think bout who's fault it really was Lol.
They Almost got ditched in the garden because we had somewhere to be! Luckily their mum arrived home 2 minutes later lol

Me - You'll have to pay for that now.
Teen - I DIDN'T break it.

The scary thing is that part of him really doesnt believe that he was touching the object so could not have broken it.

Sounds like DH when we first met too. He's ok now though. I fixed him somewhat.

Dp says I nag him but I don't. I think he takes too long to do things! Which is a slightly different topic but it relates to him forgetting stuff! Lol

I refused to do the washing up, every time he was thoughtless. Took me about 4 years.

And sometimes even now, I'll ask him to do something, and make him repeat it back to me to ensure it went into his dense head.

If I refused to do the washing we would end up eating off our hands or something lol.
Dss is terrible for it though, I have witnessed both his parents asking him to do something 5/6 times, and he dilly dallys about putting his shoes on, just savings his part of the game, just doing this, just doing that..
Drives me mad!

I have two teenage sons, and they're the same. It's maddening.

I was terribly disorganised for most of my life, I was the type of child that was always day dreaming, getting lost, not remembering to take things to schools, hit and miss if I could recite my telephone number on demand, got days wrong, lost stuff. On several occasions a teacher at secondary school would take me aside to check if everything was ok at home because I didn't hand in homework for weeks on end. I could do it easily and I wanted to catch up but something would happen on the way home and it honestly didnt enter into my thoughts again. Until I got shouted at again, there was no expaining why I hadnt done it

Funnily enough not at work when in control of what I was doing. I worked in IT and naturally built systems to help me plan and take care of the details.

It used to make me laugh when I got married and was suddenly expected to laugh along with the standard feckless husbands and organised women jokes. My husband can remember every phone number he's had for decades. I think it's very hard to train someone like me I am very organised now and enjoy it but only becuase I have built my own systems and over plan. I've always been good at big picture planning and kind of mentaly 3d modeling problems and plans in my brain. The rest has to be carefully filed and stored, or its gone.

I have perfected a muscle memory routine soon as I get into the house, coat there on right, then keys in basket on left, phone 3 steps later in designated basket. Its systems that I have designed that work for me, what really unsettles is random instructions and info thrown at me and I have nowhere to put them if my phone isnt to hand. It took me to recognise my problems, realise I could do something about it and put things in place. Other people can't organise or train me, it goes wrong.

Their mum has contacted dp to ask when we can drop off his jumper because it has his keys and bank card apparently. Dp told her he will drop it off when it's convenient, he asked dss and dsd to double check and triple check they had everything. If he wants it sooner than that he will have to make his own way here to get it unfortunately.
