One of the ladies at my child's nursery has a child whom has special needs

Last week we had a meeting all the parents we have become quite friendly and I could see somthing was wrong so after the meeting she came back to mine and broke down

She has just split up from her ex and is finding little ones behaviour very difficult she was told by her ex s family if she asks for help he will be removed by ss and in any case he's not got anything wrong he's just naughty 😳

I don't want to berate anyone's family but I told her this was fucking ridiculous and she would seek support ASAP they are not doctors or child development specialists also that it's not a failing on her part to seek support and as someone who fostered for 7 years ss do not want her child I am appalled the lies people tell it's dangerous and makes me wonder how many other women don't seek support from school etc less they be scared into thinking there child will be removed shocking just no words

Poor lad he cleary finds social situations very difficult he was covering his eyes when I was looking him

And you can clearly see he has issues

I think a lot of people don't seek help when there is a break up. It's very sad as obviously that is when people need help most, but fear of being under scrutiny and issues of trust are at the heart. There is so much pressure to show that you are coping. I worked with someone who was mentally really struggling following a break up but was worried that if she saw her gp this could be held against her. It took her a very long time to get on her feet the hard way.
