To ask if anyone knows about sex chatline work?

I done it years ago, there wasn't much money to be made then, probably less so now.

A few of the men just phoned up for a general chat, weather, telly programmes etc, the nice but lonely or a bit socially awkward guys. I'd imagine they wouldn't have deviated to web cam girls.

I think most phone lines like that are gone now and people use chaturbate or where ever.

I seem to recall seeing a documentary about these phone lines though and it was basically like any other call centre with small cubicles and bored looking women in them talking gibberish to lonely men. Nothing really seedy or what have you, more depressing I guess.

I'm not sure if this is the one I remember but might be worth a look?

I never thought of that, worra . Last time I did it was 7 or maybe 8 years ago, so technology has came on a lot.

whereistheharm you do occasionally get a right sick fuck who luckily, you have to hang up on and report. You don't get them often but they do shake you up a bit.

I suppose but if you manage to keep them on the phone and if you manage to get a lot of calls then it can be ok, it's very hard to distinguish a real site though for which to work for. Most don't even get back to you now :(

I made more doing tarot lines than the sex line workers made. If you are able to get some cards and blag your way through a reading you should consider that.

It's tedious and disgusting. I did it years ago and made quite a few hundred pounds in a few weeks. I cashed out and quit. Lots of guys want to talk about scat stuff. Some were ok and just wanted regular chats/sexy talk. I think the market is saturated now. I charged .75p a minute

Um ... My sister does webcam work. It is very rewarding financially, but it leads to so much other abuses (apart from the obvious). She has her identity stolen frequently and people set up other identities and then pretend they are her. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but it is like she continues the 'relationship' pay by sending photos/online chats.

She's got quite a following and is pretty popular but it's got such an ugly side to it. My sister has huge self esteem issues - it's terrible. She gets a lot of Asian guys from abroad who pay her.id hate to think when they get married what a warped view of sex they have, and Pity their poor partners. The content of some of the web chats are vile. I like to think I'm pretty broad-minded, but honestly, the content of the messages is vile.

If you can just see it as work then I think it is ok to do. I have a friend that does webcam stuff, not more then stripping really and she earns quiet a lot of money.

I used to do text chats.

It was fucking hilarious at first and dh and I used to have a good giggle reading some of the messages. Sometimes dh would take over for a few minutes for me if I needed to nip to the loo or something and it still makes me chuckle at the thought of these blokes texting 'Sexy housewife Sam, 36, blonde' and being replied to by a 6 foot 3 bloke!

I was averaging about £25 an hour for every hour I did it...but it was fast paced, and fairly stressful (you have like 35 seconds to read the history of a conversation and type a reply).

It got tedious really quickly. And it started to gross me out more as time went on, rather than getting used to it. At first, the novelty was fun and reading the X rated messages was shocking in a funny way iyswim?

After the 26th time that hour of typing how you wish he was here to cum on your face and fuck you hard in your arse...the humour has faded and it's just the gross bit that's left.

It's not something that I would do again. And that's just texting...I would imagine having to actually talk to them would be ten times worse.

At least with sex chat lines everyone knows where they stand.

The person phoning wants help having a wank and the person they phone is paid to help them have a wank.

With tarot card lines, the people phoning are often in genuine distress and believe the person on the other end has some sort of 'gift', that can help them. I think it's awful to cash in on their distress by keeping them chatting at a cost of £1.50 (or whatever it is) per minute.

i did it once, was boring and the company didnt even pay me, wasnt bothered though only did it for 3 days.
my friend did it and she said you have to keep people on the phone for a while to earn anything. Try it but dont pay any companies before hand, you dont have to pay, they pay you.

I did it a very long time ago, made between 180-500 a fortnight so it paid ok for me, and as soon as I logged o the calls were constant but that was for babe station etc. It probably had died s death now though, and you need to be childless with a lot of free time/nights as weekends were busiest.
