I have an itchy arse, my Dh has an itchy arse and ds has an itchy arse! I have seen evidence of threadworms....yet my Dh is convinced that we have itchy arses from eating too much white bread. He keeps preaching to me that it's from the yeast in the bread.

I think you can actually get a itchy bum from yeast but it's much more likely to be worms so eliminate that possibility firstborn it has endocrine and go from there.

Dh is refusing to let me look up his bum for confirmation.

Look at DC's bum when they're been tucked in bed for a while. If they have little white worms in the appropriate place it's a fair bet that you have them too!

Surely if the vertex Durante cure your itchy bums, then he has proof that he is tight. He should therefore have no problem with going to get some 'to eliminate your explanation'

In theory if you have a candida overgrowth happening in your digestive tract eating too much white bread, or brown bread for that matter, or any bread, or sugar, or fruit, or mushrooms, or alcohol, or just about anything that "feeds" the candida could contribute to an itchy bum, by contributing to the candida.

However, with a young child and all three of you with an itchy bum, it is highly likely it is threadworm!

We all had this earlier in the year. Strangely enough I first treated myself for intestinal thrush as I had been on several fierce antibiotics but when DH and the kids started complaining about their itchy arses, the penny dropped!

We did the course of treatment (a dose 2 weeks apart) and we are sans itch!

We all had to be treated last week yuck. My eldest dd told me she had an itchy bum so I had a look for a couple of minutes one night and one descended

It's most likely to be threadworms. Ovex from boots tomorrow and wash all bedding, pjs and underwear on 60 degree washes for two weeks at least.

Oh I hate the thought of the little buggers!! We got the for the very first time that I'm aware of this summer, took the meds and they disappeared. But obviously ds it bringing them back from school (ds finds it hilarious that he has infested us with them, he even calls his threadworm Charlie Threadworm)

Get the Ovex out and wash all the bedlinen on a boil wash. And tell your DH you're going to shine your phone torch light on his bottom while he sleeps and check for the blighters. It works; I had to check DS1 not long ago and DH nearly vomited with disgust at the very thought.
