So I want to take my daughter and her friend to a event at the NEC. I am terminally ill so need to take a carer with me. You normaly get a free ticket for a carer to help you, of which I need and I am taking. So I get a 3 or 2 offer and think, great i'll book that. I've rang up to book the tickets but they have refused to honour the the 3 for 2 offer as I am already getting a "free" carers ticket!!!
AIBU to think that this is shite, just because I am ill that I can't get the offer available to everyone else??
Its really pissed me off!!!

I guess because your not buying 3 tickets? It looks like there are 3 people in total, you are paying for 2 and getting one free? Same as the offer unless I've missed something

3 for 2 means you pay for two and get the third free. You're paying for one.

You can absolutely get the same offer as everyone else if you pay for two tickets like everyone else would have to do.

No - op is taking two - dd and her friend plus a carer. So 4 tickets.

But the OP is buying two tickets for dd and dd's friend and a further one for her (3 tickets). The carer's ticket just enables her (one ticket holder) to access the venue.

The OP is buying three tickets and getting one free which I think is why they are refusing another free ticket. The carers ticket should be a seperate thing though and I think the OP should qualify for the two for three offer for her and her daughter and friend and then another free ticket for the carer.

The carer is free.

So you should only have to pay for two tickets Op

If the OP is going and taking two children (her daughter and her daughter's friend), she is paying for 3 tickets, and getting an additional ticket (a fourth) for her carer.

Unfortunately, though, it's usually the case that these deals cannot be used in conjunction with any other discounts/concession/offers/schemes.

You're getting 4 for 3, I suppose, when everyone else gets 3 for 2.

I can see where you're coming from but if you get a reduced ticket for a student or OAP, they also don't let you use the 3 for 2 - so you just have to work out which one gives the better discount.

No op is paying for her ticket, her daughters and her dds friend. That's 3 tickets so wants to get the three for two offer. The fact that she also needs a carers ticket should be totally separate. Yanbu

I'll mention now OP. If you're driving the parking charge now applies to the accessible parking as well at the NEC.

Jesus Christ. That's so wrong, as if being so ill you need a carers ticket should invalidate an offer abailable to everyone else. I'm so sorry about your situation. Ask to speak to someone in head office? Flowers

Yes I am buying 3 tickets plus one for my carer. So 4 tickets are required.

I've just rang back but she reiterated the same message. I've asked for a call back from a manager. I just wanted to see if I was wrong in my thinking first I guess!!

Yes i agree it does seem unfair. There is probably something in the small print that says that the 3 for 2 offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, but under the circumstances it's a bit shit of them to consider your carer's ticket as part of an 'offer'.

I imagine if you take this to their facebook page or something they will re-think it as they won't want bad publicity. Good luck.

Ah ok. I guess it will be in the t&c's most places do a not to be used in conjunction with any other offer/discount/concessions. If it was illegal by being discrimation to disabled people it would of been stopped along time ago.

So your getting a consession of buy 1 get one free which then means you cannot also use a 3 for the price of 2 as your then trying to get 4 for the price of 2.

She is not there on a jolly or to watch whatever it is . She's there to care

It's not an "offer" though is it? It's just reasonable adjustment for those who need it.
