To want speed bumps, or a camera, or something?

I live on the end of a small street off a main road. Because of the layout, one of my outside walls is pretty much on the main road (there's our wall, pavement, road) so my living room window overlooks it.

It scares me the speed with which some drivers come tearing past. It's not a massively busy road (though that can vary depending on time of day) but there are often parked cars on at least one side.

After our house the road turns into a fairly steep hill with a bend, which makes it even more dangerous.

It just pisses me off so much. There's a lot of kids round here and I'm sure it's only a matter of time before something awful happens.

And don't even get me started on the shitty little hairdryer-engine motorbikes that shoot by and wake DD up when she's just got off to sleep

Nothing will happen until there's an incident or 2.
In our area you get points for incidents. The more points the higher up the table you go in the highway dept.

Our school is finally getting a zebra crossing after over a decade of requesting. That's thanks to 4 different children getting knocked down (all minor thankfully).

I live on a bend that people often speed around. It would be easy for them to be startled by unexpected traffic coming the opposite way around the bend because they're speeding muppets and to swerve and hit our front wall.

Our local elderly self-appointed neighbourhood watch have tried a campaign to put in speed bumps but got nowhere. I'm trying not to sweat it as nothing has happened in the 60-odd years DH's family have owned the house.
