To think all costs should be included?

I am starting fertility treatment shortly, and the clinic I am going to helpfully provided a full calculation of what everything will cost.

However, before I can proceed, I need tests, scans and counselling - which comes at an additional cost of over £600.

AIBU to think this £600 should have been added onto the amount given to me originally? It seems rather sneaky and puts me off using them a little.

Are those tests optional? Maybe if you've already had them elsewhere?

I do think that if they didn't include it in the total they should've mentioned it as a potential extra

Yes, there should be a proper breakdown before anything is agreed.

Along the lines of a builder telling you he needs wood, paint and nails. And 3 days of his time.

I don't know what ivf would need, but I would expect all the costs to be listed.
