My two daughters (7 and 10) spent the day with my mil and had a great time. MIL took them to see my sil and their baby cousin who is two. They came home with a humongous didgeridoo that sil apparently didn't have space for! DD1 is now playing it with great enthusiasm and gusto. Would it be bad of me to get sil's son some very noisy things? Maybe a drum kit, or something electronic where you can't turn off the sound or take out the batteries?

Penguin race is only £6.38 plus free delivery n Amazon, so I would assume you could either get them one each or have enough left in the budget for play doh or glittery shit. Grin

We havent switched our penguin race on for months but I can still hear that friggin noise in my head. It really is that bad.

I've just had another idea, those bloody bubbles that you can hold, they just sit on the carpet until you pop them, then they leave a plastic residue, like dried PVA glue.

I may or may not have bought 35 individual packets of them on Amazon for £4, to put in the birthday party bags. Wink

I'm amazed how many of us have experienced that horrid penguin race! makes mental note for youngest nephew's stocking

We also have a dinosaur, if you so much as breathe in the fuckers direction it roars over and over, even when its buried in the bottom of the toy box.

finger paints, ohours of fun for the little darling and hours of fun for DPs clearing off the walls.

I wonder if Amazon are about to see a rush on penguin races?

ELC do a maracas set that sing irritating songs and have no off switch....

Witchend · 26/10/2015 20:43

A recorder is great for a 2yo.

Although when I got that for dn thinking the joy of giving a noisy irritating item was poetic justice, sil wrote a thank you letter saying that his ability on the recorder (aged 2yo) was showing how musical he was... Ridiculous thing is,she probably believed it too. Hmm

Penguin race - Bwah, ha, ha, ha, ha.

Off to order one for my friend who gave my DS a toy electric guitar.....

The look of horror when I took one look at the present, and asked 'Remind me when your DD's birthday is again...'

Years ago I taught my niece to sing to the tune of John Brown's Body:

I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves . . . And this is how it goes!

and now her daughter is 14 months old and one day not so far away I will teach it to her too!
