She complains of being unwell so goes to GP

GP says virus but gives her antibiotics anyway
Tells her to avoid public places and not return to surgery but to phone instead

She then says she was feeling a bit grim and lonely so she went to have a meal and buy herself some books to read

I point out that that's unfair on elderly/babies and she says it wasn't busy and she only touched things she bought... We got in a bit of a tiff as she has no commitment that means she HAD to go anywhere other than perhaps pick up a few groceries to be able to quarantine herself on the way home for a few days

Anyway I'm being unsympathetic

I don't see the point of going to the doctor, if you then ignore the recommendations for your own health

If your DM is feeling lonely and at a loss, she may have seen the appointment as a way of getting out of the house. Do you think she's feeling down, in general?

If you are arguing about silly stuff, you won't want to keep her company or pop round either!
