I've had so many incidents from him over the years I've lost count but xh's latest request has got me wondering.

Basically, the ow he buggered off with years ago had a child with her Xh. Xh and ow are now married and my dcs spend alternate weekends there when he isn't off being all high powered in his job and palming them off elsewhere. (This happens a lot. Not good for anyone.)

His latest idea - I have his step child to stay with me and the dcs for a sleepover. I've only met this child once. They live a good hour away so it's not as though we cross paths. I realise my two are close to their step sibling and that's fine but I reckon this smacks of xh and ow fancying a weekend away and using me as childcare. The child is 9 ish, btw.

Unless I'm somehow being unreasonable and this is what reasonable divorced people do these days...??

Haha, he has a nerve. YANBU.

Hahahahahhahahahahhahahahha
The man's a loon

HaydeeofMonteCristo · 11/10/2015 21:57

Good one, xh.

The kids can spent plenty of time with their step sibling at his.

Twistedheartache · 11/10/2015 21:57

Tell him where to go!
But then I'm (probably unreasonably) pissed off enough that my stbxh & ow get every other weekend totally child free coz they get her daughter to go to her dad the same weekend that he is not seeing my two.

He has the most brass neck of all brass necks.

I can just imagine exDPs face if I suggested he have our DDs and my DSS.

Or DHs exDP if she'd have my DDs.

Fuck. Sake.

whirlybird42 · 11/10/2015 22:03

Oh he's such a dick. He has a way of pitching these things like it's entirely normal. I am so glad I'm not married to him any more.

He's forever trying to get me to cover his weekends when "urgent" work things crop up. Dp and I have booked to go away next weekend and he even asked if that could be moved. I told him where to stick that.

Hahahaha!

Tell him to fuck off. It's one thing having your ex ask if you could have your child's half sibling (child with wife) for the weekend which is ridiculous enough, but to ask if you could have his step child?! No. Fucking. Way.

Purplepoodle · 11/10/2015 22:07

Er no if they want them to spend time together they can do it at their house

SolidGoldBrass · 11/10/2015 22:14

Well, he's being a cock to think that you exist purely to make his life easier and you certainly shouldn't change your plans to accomodate him but if your DC and your XH's stepchild like each other and get on well, try to see that as a good thing. The stepchild is not to blame for who shagged who, and shouldn't be treated as some kind of enemy alien by you - what's one kid more or less on a sleepover?

whirlybird42 · 11/10/2015 22:22

I've got no issue at all with the child, the relationship with my dcs or him and I'd be happy with him coming for tea or something.

But it's not like having one of their school friends to stay over - I'd at least have met them a few times first and likely be on friendly terms with the parents.

I wish I could be nicer but xh and ow were utter shockers at the time and amicable though I am these days, it's pushing relations further than I'm comfortable with!

The child isn't to blame, but that doesn't mean that the OP has any obligation to entertain the child when her children are with her. The children aren't having sleepovers- they are staying with their mum, so to say "what's one more or less child on a sleepover" is a bit unfair really. Why should the OP be pressured in to doing this? She doesn't want her XH's stepchild tagging along as well on her weekend with her children. I completely understand that tbh.

That is fucking hilarious! Brass neck of him!

Although i did offer to babysit for ex new baby but we both aknowledged it would just be a bit weird.
