DS (14m) is poorly and from 10pm last night had a temp of between 38-39 as well as 2 vomiting incidents. Took him to the docs this morning who said he has some kind of bug and gave us some antibiotics for him and advised us to keep him dosed up on caplol and ibruprofen. Before we got him into the docs, all he wanted to do was lay on me and sleep. He never does this unless he's poorly. I had originally told my boss I'd be off all day as DS' nursery cant take him (I wouldnt send him like that anyway). I then got a pang of guilt as last week I had to whizz off because nursery said he had blood in his nappy and I also took an impromptu day's leave yesterday (with a days notice) as DS had a cancellation at the dieticians.

All I want to do now is be him with him. I know DH is with him but, yknow.... Sad

It's hard. BUT he will be fine, you have done the best thing for the good of the family - DH and DS bond, your job security, etc. You will get tons of snuggles when you've finished work I'm sure. It gets easier I promise. Hope he is better soon.

Ah the guilt always gets you one way or another doesn't it Smile How's he doing now?

cjt110 · 08/10/2015 20:12

Crying, sobbing his heart out off/on. Seemed to cool but his temperature seems to be coming back again. He cries if just in a nappy because he's cold. Hes in a long sleeve vest and sleeping bag atm. He's had Calpol and ibuprofen which seem to help but he keeps waking sobbing x

My dd had this last week. She suddenly spiked a temp, was sick twice and slept for the rest of the day. Next day totally off her food and v clingy etc, but on the mend the next 2 days and right as rain on day 5.

Luckily, today, back to his usual self :)

DS (13 weeks today) was ill at nursery on Monday. I got the call at work, but was in another office expressing milk and didn't take my phone! OH rushed to get him and I stayed at work Sad
I just wanted to be home with him, so booked the next day off.

He was fine the next day, so we had a lovely day at home together Grin

it's nice for his daddy to do his bit of poorly cuddles. glad he's better today

He' still at home with DH today. Got a photo of him fast asleep on the sofa next to DH earlier.

I'm skeptical at the antibiotics prescription! If you think it's a tummy bug I woukd stay off them as could easily make symptoms worse
