To cancel trip to see friends tomorrow?

We had arranged to go and visit friends tomorrow. Friend contacted me Tuesday to say she had an awful sickness and upset stomach. She was okay again Wednesday evening. Fine yesterday. I rung her today to discuss tomorrow and she casually mentioned she wasn't at work today as she has got the upset stomach again.
I have cancelled our visit tomorrow and she isn't happy and says she will be fine tomorrow. Hmm
Even if me and dp were very careful with hand washing and using the toilet, my dc won't be! to top off the fun, I now need to treat the family for possibly threadworm and clean the whole house. Blush

YANBU.

She might feel fine tomorrow, but if it's a bug, she might still be contagious.

CrapBag · 02/10/2015 21:16

YANBU. I hate it when people are ill and see as no big deal that you or your family may get it. I avoid people who have bugs or contagious illnesses. I know some think I am being ridiculous but I don't care and I don't want to be ill or looking after sick children when it can be avoided.

Plus she has no way of knowing if she will be well tomorrow or if someone else in her family will come down with it.

Sounds reasonable to postpone to me.

Bearbehind · 02/10/2015 21:23

eh? Where does the thread worm come into it?

lorelei9 · 02/10/2015 21:29

YANBU, I wouldn't want to go either. She has no clue what she had I take it - if she knew she had food poisoning and was taking a little time to settle that would be different.

I once upset someone by cancelling because her son had swine flu. I don't know what is wrong with these people, why would anyone want to risk it? I have been told "the risk is everywhere" but does that mean I have to maximise it? I think not!

Washing all the sheets incase of worms... If everyone got the bug I wouldn't have enough spare sheets! Blush

I take it this is one of those threads with the mysterious missing posts

MrsGinnyPotter · 02/10/2015 23:23

Oh the dreaded worms, you have my sympathy Mrs and yanbu, you need to eradicate the wrigglers. Good luck!
