I'm shamelessly posting here for traffic but I'm a mixture of confused, worried and intrigued so need the opinions.
It's recently come to my attention that an old family member is now a, fairly, prominent politician. This wasn't the case when we were close(r). However, I'm really only related to this person through their sibling, who I know longer see or speak to, and not through my choice.
I have tried many times in the last five years that I've had no contact to find said family member, but had no luck. They are completey "un-googlable" and have no trace on social media that I can find at all. I can see or read no reference to them anywhere in the politicians bios/history. This is highly unusual isn't it?
The last I heard from incognito relative they were helping politician relative with a campaign, and also considering working in a relatively volatile area overseas. I've emailed several times and had no response but feel uncomfortable contacting the politician relative. Isn't is a bit weird to have literally no trace of his family, that I know for a fact he is extremely close to, online at all? Google has the "information removed" warning all over my searches.
