3month old baby would not stop crying all day. Did everything I could to calm her down - fed, changed, burped, clean clothes, cream on her dry skin, I took her for a walk in the pushchair, checked her temperature (it was fine) - everything I did was met with the same screaming and crying. She screamed constantly from 12pm-5pm, conked out for half an hour, then cried again until 8.45pm when she conked out again and has been asleep since.

Dp who's been at work since 11.30am was due to finish at 8.30pm, pop to my mums to get something (10mins away) and then be home by 9.15 at the latest. He's just got in - turns out he went to his mothers (30mins away) after going to my mums to see his sister and they ended up chatting for over an hour! And then he had to walk home in the dark so was slower than usual.

I've not eaten all day, was waiting for Dp and he's now not hungry as his mum fed him. I am exhausted from walking round the flat with baby trying to calm her down, the washing up needs doing as I was supposed to do it but due to aforementioned baby never got round to it so have no plates, and I need a shower - again was waiting for Dp incase DD was unsettled so I didn't have to get out half way through and deal with her.

I've had enough. I'm off to bed to cry for a rest Sad

I'd be giving my husband an absolute earful if he did this. Does he own a mobile?

SimonIsAnArsehole · 24/09/2015 22:51

Tomorrow will be better, sleep well!

What a terrible day.

Have a nice bath. Get (hopefully) repentant DP to bring you tea and toast or whatever in bed.

Have a good sleep. Tomorrow will be better.

Flowers poor you OP!!

I would not find that acceptable from DP!! 'P' stands for partner right.....? So he needs to be your partner in looking after your little one!

But I don't think I would have the energy to get into it after a day like that, so I don't blame you!

YANBU, tomorrow is a new day and babies change so quickly... Here's to a new day.

To those of you saying they'd be mad with Dp trust me I am. He's usually good though and he was doing me a favour going to my mums rather than expecting me to go and take DD with me, so I think baby slipped his mind for awhile. He ran me a warm bath this morning, made me breakfast and has looked after DD all morning so he's forgiven.

It sounds like he did a good job of redeeming himself.

In your shoes I would've write yesterday off too!
