My fucking job!!!

I work in a housewares shop and I hate it!

For a start the males are on 30p an hour more than the females.

Today has really taken the biscuit. We have bloody rats in the shop. My boss being the tight sod he is hasn't called anyone to deal with it. Instead he's sent me armed with a stick and a spade to sort it out.

I have found (amongst stock) 3 dead mice and a dead rat.

Aibu if I tell my boss to go and fuck himself? I'm terrified of rats and mice!

YANBU that's horrible.

PotteringAlong · 15/09/2015 13:16

The men are paid more than the women?!

Crazyrabbitlady · 15/09/2015 13:17

Yep! 30p an hour more. I'm leaving as soon as possible.

The boss gets round it by giving them stupid titles even though we all do the exact same job. It pisses me off.

All pay is supposed to be confidential but some of the staff have been talking to one another.

Make him mouse and rat pie for lunch?

InimitableJeeves · 15/09/2015 13:22

If you were going to stay there, I would strongly suggest joining a union and getting them to sort this out.

FannyFifer · 15/09/2015 13:24

Phone environmental health or the council or something, say you are s concerned customer who saw a rat.

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 15/09/2015 13:27

Message the name of the shop, (and town), lots of "customers" will phone up having seen mice and rats for you.

f1fan2015 · 15/09/2015 13:38

Rat him out to environmental health

lardyscouse · 15/09/2015 14:13

Call the union. If you aren't in one then you are daft.

For the same work ? Shock

LaurieMarlow · 15/09/2015 14:23

Leave. Leave now.

I couldn't work in those conditions.

dodobookends · 15/09/2015 14:24

Call the local newspaper, they love this sort of thing.

lardyscouse · 15/09/2015 14:26

Or join a union [have I said this before?]
