I am absolutely livid.

Got in touch with this guy via Facebook last week who advertised his carpet cleaning business. Asked him if he could come last Friday, sure - no problem but he wouldn't be able to come until the evening.

4.30pm and he messaged me to say he was unable to do it. Ok.

His message is this:
"Hi really sorry im not gonna make appointment tonight i can do tomorrow or monday if thats any good"

I agree to have it done the next day and ask him what time he can do it, he replies with :

"Late afternoon sometime"? I am slightly irate at the vague time he is giving me and ask if he can text me an hour or so before as what with it being the weekend I may have plans. He sends me a "thumbs up" via Facebook messenger.

So time ticks on and he doesn't show up.

I don't want to give him a review as he has my address and I would be paranoid (I am moving next week though). I just want my fucking rug cleaned!!! The dog I was dog sitting for has pissed all over it.

My DP went and messaged him on FB AGAIN to book him which I was really pissed off about, no apology given.

Well he was due to come today at 11.30am and cancelled at 11.

I am beyond angry especially seeing him advertisign his business on FB. WIBU to comment on his advertisement with this story?

I wouldn't waste any more time on him. Can't you just find someone else?

BoredAdminGirl · 15/09/2015 11:31

That's the thing, there doesn't seem to be anyone else in our area!

I wouldn't think it unreasonable to give your feedback on fb. You run the risk of it being deleted or getting into a public argument as he doesn't sound very professional.
If you do comment, keep it factual and without emotion. Hard when you are angry though

DoJo · 15/09/2015 11:31

You could, but he would probably just delete it so it might make more sense to find out if he advertises anywhere else which is controlled by a third party and post there.

isseywithcats · 15/09/2015 12:22

not much you can do about him but have you looked at hiring a rug doctor they are really easy to use dirt cheap and you usually pick them up from your local asda

TheHouseOnTheLane · 15/09/2015 12:24

Go to Morrisons and hire a cleaner there!

hellsbellsmelons · 15/09/2015 12:24

Local supermarkets hire out carpet cleaners now.
Could you do that and do it yourself?

CocktailQueen · 15/09/2015 12:25

YANBU. I'd want to give him negative feedback too - how annoying! - but agree that it could be risky when he knows your address etc. Agree with advice to find a third party website and diss him there!
