Unpopular opinion probably, but aibu to think he is possibly one of the most boring people on TV? He's like Ken Livingstone's love child.

I'd much rather someone boring (or normal), than someone with a massive ego, who is all 'me, me, me'.
I've met Dermot and he's funny and charming. He does quite a bit for charity too. He is disappointingly short in real life though!

Ratarse · 13/09/2015 11:29

Is he funny, he must just come over really badly on telly then. Good on him for the charity work. I have noticed how small he Is when he's stood with other people who aren't Ant and Dec.

My friends dh is good friends with him. He's nice enough, but not who I'd want to entertain me on TV.

LunchpackOfNotreDame · 13/09/2015 11:35

He's inoffensive. I prefer olly murs on the x factor to dermot but they're both just generic Essex boys

lorelei9 · 13/09/2015 12:03

I didn't know much about him till he did the 24 hour dancing for Comic Relief

I switched on the TV in the middle of a moment that he clearly found killingly hard and I thought "respect". Plus there was something really nice about it - charity activities on TV can be hugely annoying but the spirit was lovely with this one.

newlabelwriter · 13/09/2015 12:09

My very gorgeous friend dated him years ago and then dumped him quite rapidly. She said he was very two dimensional and not very interesting.

squoosh · 13/09/2015 12:55

At least he's not 'wacky' I suppose.

WhatTheJeffHasGoneOnHere · 13/09/2015 12:58

Yabu, I love him. Very disappointed he's left X factor and no longer on my TV on a Saturday night. Sigh.

TittyBiskwits · 13/09/2015 13:51

I love Dermot and his tight trousers.

He presented a programme once and his trews were so 'snug' that everything else about the show has escaped me.

I miss him on X Factor too Sad Especially since his replacement is that clown Olly Murs.

TSSDNCOP · 13/09/2015 14:08

I have inapprprpriate dreams about him.

But then I als have them about Clarkson.

D you think I should seek help?

^yy. He does have a nice bum, which almost makes up for him being inhumanly dull.

laffymeal · 13/09/2015 14:21

He's awful on the radio because his voice is a reedy monotone and it irritates the fuck out of me.

I also hate him because he once said to a judge on X Factor who had 2 acts in the bottom two "This must be like Sophie's Choice for you". Totally distasteful and ignorant remark, comparing a shitty talent show to something like that. Douchebag.

TSSDNCOP · 13/09/2015 14:29

Were they the brown trousers Derek that were part of a suit?

They shouldn't have been on before the water shed really.

Mintyy · 13/09/2015 14:37

Yawnorama.

Have you heard his Radio 2 show with the unbelievably irritating jingle? Turgid nonsense with Dermot so far up the arse of every guest he's ever had on (and they are ALL bland as fuck) it actually makes me feel deeply, deeply ragey.
