To Think Mumsnet Has Suddenly Become Less Usable (Or Has My IT Illiteracy Finally Nailed Me)?

Just got a new laptop, lovely bright blue colour, all singing & all dancing with Windows 10. Very happy with it in every way - except one.

Not a great contributor, but I do follow lots of MN threads, especially the views on education threads (I teach SEN) of a few favourite posters. With my dear old now-defunct laptop, if I wanted to see what a particular post said, I only had to click on the link to be taken directly to the message in question.

(I used "advanced search / posted by / dates /..." then select message from list for each thread)

Now, under my new Win10 regime, if I click on the link to a particular post it simply takes me to the original post that starts the thread. Not a lot of help if the thread is 942 pages long, and I am only interested in a couple of posts...

Can anyone tell me how to recover my previous functionality?

ps. Please can we have a "Worried" Smiley?

I don't think it's MN that's changed. It's Windows 10. It makes me feel like a technophobic fuddy duddy.

advanced search has also had a lot of problems recently so it could be that it is not quite working atm too. Poster nick name aspect of the search has been err interesting of late.
