Park at the Airport, get a train to New St to meet and get train back, or another station just outside the city. It'll be much less stressful!

See if you can get him to jump on a train to international instead, much easier pick up for the sake of 10 mins effort from him.

There is short term parking but last time I was there it was a building site with horrible traffic.

The international idea is a good one.

I usually park in one of the car parks off Bromsgrove Street, or at weekends a meter there. Not too far to walk. And you can pop in to the Chinese supermarkets!

You can get to bromsgrove street quite easily and you avoid the traffic. Turn off the ring road just before the mosque.

The new short stay if you wait in your car?
You'll only need a ticket when you leave the car, it's pay and display.

Bit late but there is actually a short stay car park above the station - or you can just sit and wait in the drop off area (although you couldn't leave your car to go and meet her from the drop off area)
