Not to tidy before DDad visits tomorrow?

The house is a bit untidy because, well, we're all a bit untidy, I've just gone back to work FT after mat leave (DD2 is 6months), I've got terrible period pains and I've had a shit day at the office. DParents house is even messier than ours but DDad will pass comment tomorrow, I am sure. AIBU to say, you're visiting us, not carrying out an inspection and to just put my feet up for a bit?

YANBU, my mum always says she's here to see me, not check for dust, which is just as well.

If he says anything just ask him to help tidy up.

If he comments; show him where you keep the Hoover.

Aha hadn't thought of roping him in to actually doing the housework. Fab idea!

I was just thinking the same thing! My 'D'Dad is coming to visit and meet my nearly 7 month old DD for the second time tomorrow. I'm sure he will have comments to make about the state of my house but we all have colds and I am past caring.

I always tidy up before visitors. If you turn up unannounced & the house is a mess, I will either not open the door or keep you at it!
