To just have a little nap

I went to work this morning feeling pretty shit. Slept most of yesterday but still full of the cold today. Left work this afternoon to work from home but I'm struggling to stay awake.
Is it very bad to just have a wee nap?

Isn't that what "working from home" is? I am supposed to be working from home today and my boss is going to be so annoyed with myack of progress (I am self employed!).

Have a nap. You'll be more productive afterwards. Hope you feel better soon.

CarriesBucketOfBlood · 07/09/2015 12:54

I once read that 14 minutes was the optimum power nap time.

I quite often set my phone alarm for 16 minutes (2 to fall asleep) and power nap. Feel fantastic afterwards. I wouldn't recommend napping on the bed, because I find it harder to get up again. Do a seated nap on the sofa (don't recline) or put a pillow on a desk and sleep leaning forward.

It's a glorious day here as well just to add to guilt.

I think it's really amazing just how little time can make you feel great again.

I am always surprised by how little sleep I seem to need to feel good in myself!

currytoohot · 07/09/2015 13:26

I'm working from home today and just woke up after a 20 minute nap - go for it!!

I'm just up from a nap. I highly recommend it. Enjoy your snooze.

Tootsiepops · 07/09/2015 16:17

First day of maternity leave for me today - I've had two naps Grin

Blarblarblar · 07/09/2015 20:53

Helloo fellow nappers well my nap was rudely interrupted by the window cleaner. Thought I'd leave windows open and curtains open to ease my guilt for sleeping on a sunny day, I don't know why but it seemed rude to close the curtains ..........busted. I'm not sure he thinks very well of me anyway considering he has also caught me spooning peanut butter and Nutella straight out the jar while in my pjs in the afternoon before. In my defence I had just found out I was pregnant and in shock.

Naps are great! But Carries - I'm jealous, it takes me ages to fall asleep (night time or nap time) - how on earth do you do it in 2 minutes? Grin

Blarblarblar · 07/09/2015 21:02

I know I have to do all kinds of mind tricks most nights.
However being a bit sick no probs out like a light in fact I'm heading back now I've been up dealt with kids sleep is calling

I love afternoon naps.
They're better if I can convince the cat to have one too!

Welshmaenad · 08/09/2015 15:15

Glitteryfrog, I had a lunchtime nap today and woke up with three cats in bed with me! Grin

happymummyone · 08/09/2015 15:20

I had two naps yesterday! 37 weeks, and the constant walking up the stairs to go pee must have taken it out of me Wink

Very jealous of the PP who falls asleep in two minutes! How?!
