AIBU - Christmas, a follow up

A few weeks ago I posted saying my OH was expecting us to host his family for Christmas when I would be 37 weeks pregnant.

Yesterday the PIL came over, and I raised the question of Christmas. After a few jokes of them getting merry and sending me off to hospital in a taxi (and they WERE jokes). His mum turned to me and said "you probably won't even want us, or anyone there, and that's fine" and his granddad said "and if you do think it's ok for us to come we'll definitely get a hotel to stay in". So very sensible people. OH protested, but they were pretty adamant and totally back me up, despite me actually only saying "so at Christmas I'll be 37 weeks pregnant..." and leaving it at that, they surmised the rest themselves. Sometime PIL are great!

Sensible relatives apart from your husband. His attitude needs to change if you remain together as a family

They were great. Oh protested doesn't sounds so too though!

So they clearly had a chat amongst themselves and decided what was appropriate. The thing is, when people do this, it's much easier to look forward to seeing them.

Good, pleased they realised this. OH protested, Hmm.
