Having a treat takeaway. Ordered a family meal deal. When it came 2 things were missing, so I rang up and the guy on the phone said "what do you want me to do?" Err send me my food? Seemed a bit pee'd off he had to send the driver here again for 2 things (were only small things but 1 of them was my fave-onion bahji) but thats not my fault!

No, YANBU. It was their mistake, and so they should sort it out - and you were perfectly polite, so no unreasonableness there at all, IMO.

Enjoy your takeaway! We're having Chinese tonight - Dh has driven ds3 up to Aberdeen to start university today, and the beef I was going to casserole got left out overnight - and neither of us can be bothered to work out a different option and cook it.

Yanbu, if you've ordered x,y,z then that's what you should get.

TheCatsMother99 · 05/09/2015 18:59

YANBU... You ordered and paid for those items.

cherrybakewelltart · 05/09/2015 19:01

Yanbu at all. I waited 2 hours for a can of Dr Pepper the other day. Not really important but I paid for it and I wanted it Grin

I hate that -- what do you want me to do about it..
The worst was one that said well we are really busy so instead I will discount the next order..
No I want my goods now..
No I will discount next time..
One of the items was a missing main, another main was wrong and a few other smaller things Missing. Thankfully I hadn't ordered directly and was able to go to that company to sort everything.,
Original called me the next day to tell me I was banned from ordering and did I realize the amount of shit had I got them into. Lots of their customers were reasonable and accepted the credit for future order. Like it was something to be proud of lol

YANBU! We've just ordered a Chinese and I'm excited. We've even ordered different things from normal! I will be gutted if anything doesn't turn up. We got a wrong starter once - meat platter instead of veg - and I was ridiculously disappointed. Didn't bother taking it up with the takeaway though, just never used them again.

yorkshapudding · 05/09/2015 19:46

Of course YANBU. They messed up so they should take responsibility for making things right. Just basic customer service really, you're not asking for the moon on a stick.

Yanbu. We were missing one of our items once from a Chinese take away. When dh rang they just told him they were too busy to correct it and laughed down the phone. Angry

Papa johns did this to us a year later I've still never been refunded the amount..

We have had orders messed up a few times and most of the time the places are good and give me the option of discount or items asap. One place got really grumpy with me I ordered a curry and by the time it arrived it was stone cold and I got the we don't redo meals, in the end they gave in and I got a whole new meal though gritted teeth and the manager delivered it himself once he realised I had ordered though justeat and could leave a terrible review.
