FB selling page...

I enquired on a page about a bundle of books for sale and received message at about 3am saying "yes, still have them".

Since then, it has been like drawing blood from a stone attempting to get information about the items and how to pay for them. Every few days I will receive a one word answer in the middle of the night, "yes", "paypal" "£6".... no please or thankyou, no politeness or volunteering of obviously relevant like paypal details or any information at all.

Do people not use basic manners on these pages?

AIBU to reply to her next message saying I'm not interested any more, her rudeness has irked me and whilst I am aware that an online shop wont say please or thankyou, at least if I'd ordered it from amazon the day I messaged her I would have the damn thing by now.

I suppose it's possible that English isn't the seller's first language but yes, these pages seem to be a breeding ground for the illiterate and mannerless. See also the incredibly annoying "Needs gone ASAP" statement that seems to crop up on all of them. That isn't even a proper sentence.

I'd just stop contacting her, she's had her chance. Fb selling pages annoy me, if people can't be arsed to put basic information like location, clothing sizes etc on then I'm not chasing them.

Id back away but let her know you are not interested anymore. No reason needed. I wonder if she even has them. There seem to be alot recently who ordering in. Cash on collection only!

I'm only on FB for selling and it annoys the crap out of me.

Where do the well-mannered, literate, normal people go to sell things given that the FB pages are full of neanderthals who can barely string a sentence together? Genuine question.

And why does everyone I'm in contact with about buying or selling try and add me as a friend and insists on calling me 'hun'?

The thing is, it is a page for newly qualified university graduates to sell on old books to new students, even if English is not her first language she would need to be fluent to have made it onto this course, let alone graduated.

Its also a career where you need to be seen to be personable, I think that's what is throwing me.

I only joined my local FB selling site in August and have come off it.
All that was on there was buggies, children's clothes and crap.

I've sold a few things but some people are so rude and start arguing with you if they feel they are next in line. Makes me laugh to be honest.

We sold a car on eBay twice and both were time wasters and reported. Eventually sold it on Gumtree

Selling stuff is dealing with the general public and too sadly many of them are rude and bolshy.

Not being unreasonable the people on these pages rarely have manners! What also annoys me( it probably shouldn't) is people selling something for more than it is selling new in the shop!

Urgh I hate these pages. 90% of the people say they really want it then never turn up or change their mind at the last minute. Even when you are giving stuff away for free they do the same. Does my head in. And yes everyone calls me 'hun'.

On one of my local ones, someone got banned for repeatedly pretending to sell things, simply so that they could watch the buyer arrive out of the window and laugh at them. They would brag about it afterwards.

I've given away loads of household and building material stuff for free (big renovation). So many no shows and people who don't say thank you.

Oh they're a hotbed of oddness. No shows galore. Plus one bloke asking for something that I had. Offered it to him and agreed a price. Twenty minutes later he blocks me How hard is it to say you've had a better offer? I might even have made a counter offer.

I am on a selling page for kids clothes of a particular brand, and one woman on there continually causes arguments and will post threads which are in no way related to clothes or selling them, just to start a row. Loads of people then jump on and argue with her. It's weird.

The spelling, punctuation and grammar is terrible too! Ours are full of people saying that they have things they are saling or that they have something for sell. Sigh.

Actually what I really dislike are people selling their pets. Don't want your dog anymore? Stick it on fb. Everything is so disposable.

i always do the "hm?" on the item (i think are you charging different amounts to different people?) put the fucking price on it, you cockwomble!
