Ds is going in to yr7 tommorow. For various reasons we have been a little disorganised in getting the school stuff sorted out. He is going to a very traditional not to say stuffy grammar school from a relaxed village primary, so it is a bit of a culture shock for all of us.

Anyway he has a long kit list some of which is only available from a specific shop. We have finally got the package (ordered online)today and it is
a)Incomplete and
b) The wrong size

Today dh is at work and I am taking ds to the shop to try and sort it out. But I suspect they won't be able to sort it completely (I will be able to return the wrong size stuff, but they won't have the bits we need). The school has a second hand uniform shop which may have the stuff we need failing that, one of us will need to explain the situation to the school. Today is an inset and I have left a message on the answer phone at the scholarship, but dont think this is going to be resolved today.

Tomorrow dh is working from home,I am a hcp with a full clinic. AIBU to think instead of sending ds in on the bus he needs to go to the school and sort this out ?

Nope. Unless he has something exceptionally urgent and time sensitive. Has he refused to?

I'm not sure that either of you need to go to the school. See what you can sort out today then write a note explaining. I would be surprised if you are the only one's having problems so the school may be flexible for a few days. Find out from the shop when things will be available if they don't have them now.

If there is anything that needs to be sorted out tomorrow then your DH should do it.

Email.

You won't be able to walk in a see the correct person/tutor/head of year.

Email today.

Agree with others. No one at the school will have time to talk to a random parent about uniform on the 1st day of term. There will be teachers in today - email (or phone) your best bet.
