To think they should of done something

I posted on another forum about something normal in childhood, and keep getting messages from someone on that forum about it, it's obviously turning them on which I find disgusting anyway I've reported it but nothing's happened and they still keep messaging me, my question is, AIBU to think this shouldn't be allowed and they should do something about it?

OP it's best to just forget about this. Moderators aren't the police and someone having a suspected fetish can't really be policed anyway....your instinct is probably right but the best action is to block and watch what you post about in future.

Thanks, I will, it's just not something you'd normally associate with someone having a fetish on a parenting site, so I was surprised. It just annoys me. It's a great resource but I don't want to use it as every time I go on there I get messages from that person.

I got this once (on this site in fact) from a fetishist. I ignored the PM's and eventually they stopped, if you can just delete without reading messages. Some people are very weird, I think you've done the right thing reporting it and I would continue to report until you get a response from the moderators - maybe there is some way of blocking this person from messaging you or better still banning them from the site. Maybe response to your report is slow because its the weekend?

One message I was just a bit yuck at but I'm getting three or four a day and it's too much.

Yes it is horrible - makes you feel quite violated for want of a better word - they are invading your space with their perviness.

I wasn't quite sure with mine whether to go down the ignoring route until they got bored, or whether to send a 'leave me alone you creep' type message. In the end I decided better not to engage as they would probably get off on that. But don't read the messages - just delete you don't have to let them dump their disgusting thoughts on you. Flowers

Before I come in all guns blazing. How long ago did you report this. If it were only a few hours ago.The moderators may not have looked at your complaint yet, don't know how often they check things, well obviously, just like I don't know how often MNHQ check their messages and reports etc. I would imagine they check them everyday though.
I won't type what I think of the disgusting prick who is sending you those messages. But the forum you are on should not only ban them but also establish were they live and get the authorities involved, because if they are getting off on what I think they're getting off on, That needs dealing with, before they do something abusive in real life or perhaps they have done or are doing so.

Yanbu, it's disgusting and you just ignore them if the mods aren't responding yet. However it's quite naive of you to think just because it's a parenting forum you are safer from these creeps, it's a public forum at the end of the day and anyone can access it.
