AIBU?

To imagine that when the site is down...

...it's like we're all in a bus shelter in the pissing rain, just waiting for it to ease up. A minor inconvenience with an edge of adventure.

The tool who has been trying to ddos the site has no idea who he's dealing with. We're mums! My nap refusing 4-month-old is a lot more annoying.

MNHQ in the red corner, weird, lonely, disgruntled geek(s) in the blue corner.......keyboards at the ready.......go!

MNHQ wins, site is reopened, huuuuurrraaaaahhh, the crowds go wild.

Give up hacker, every time the site goes live again it is a massive victory for freedom of speech and it shows that we are strong and you are weak. I've nothing but respect and admiration for the MNHQ team working tirelessly against your ridiculous bullshit. Go and get a bloody job/life/proper hobby.

I was following on twitter. When Justine posted about being under attack again I was having mental images of MumsnetHQ all strapping on their helmets and grabbing a bazooka Grin

I thought it would be a bit like the Simpsons episode where the kids didn't watch TV and society started working again.
I actually had to interact with the kids Sad

I was so bored I almost did my ironing (no, not really)

I have put my washing on. Yes, it was so boring.
I also might end up washing up the dishes, if it continues.

I said to my husband - of all the skill the hacker has he chooses to do this?

I mean - I know we're interesting and engaging but really 90% of it is just chatting the breeze.

It'd be like me going and throwing cakes at my husband's cricket club. I'd be the dick. Not the people I was annoying. Everyone would just forget about it and move on though.

The irritation level is like when your kids won't go out and play but would rather ear wigg when your friends round.

Go out and play Jeffrey !

What's the hacker trying to achieve? Just seems absurd.

I was outraged this morning - I actually had to do work! In work! On company time!

It's just not good enough.
