To imagine that when the site is down...

ladyrosy · 25/08/2015 14:21's like we're all in a bus shelter in the pissing rain, just waiting for it to ease up. A minor inconvenience with an edge of adventure.

The tool who has been trying to ddos the site has no idea who he's dealing with. We're mums! My nap refusing 4-month-old is a lot more annoying.

MNHQ in the red corner, weird, lonely, disgruntled geek(s) in the blue corner.......keyboards at the ready.......go!

MNHQ wins, site is reopened, huuuuurrraaaaahhh, the crowds go wild.

Give up hacker, every time the site goes live again it is a massive victory for freedom of speech and it shows that we are strong and you are weak. I've nothing but respect and admiration for the MNHQ team working tirelessly against your ridiculous bullshit. Go and get a bloody job/life/proper hobby.

FarelyKnuts · 25/08/2015 14:32

I was following on twitter. When Justine posted about being under attack again I was having mental images of MumsnetHQ all strapping on their helmets and grabbing a bazooka Grin

"More gin needed on the front line! Pip pip! Tallyho!"

ACatNamedBlue · 25/08/2015 14:52

I had a look at NM last night, what a complete load of tosh Grin
I couldn't fathom my way round and it seemed very pink, and I didn't believe what pp had said but everyone really is a 'Hun'
Thank goodness we are back in business,
Wine gin for MNHQ

ACatNamedBlue · 25/08/2015 14:53

I am an old poster btw, I've just got a new look for the new password,

ninetynineonehundred · 25/08/2015 14:55

I thought it would be a bit like the Simpsons episode where the kids didn't watch TV and society started working again.
I actually had to interact with the kids Sad

TheExMotherInLaw · 25/08/2015 14:56

I was so bored I almost did my ironing (no, not really)

BrideOfWankenstein · 25/08/2015 14:59

I have put my washing on. Yes, it was so boring.
I also might end up washing up the dishes, if it continues.

coffeeisnectar · 25/08/2015 15:01

We shall not be moved.

Alterego1965 · 25/08/2015 15:02

I said to my husband - of all the skill the hacker has he chooses to do this?

I mean - I know we're interesting and engaging but really 90% of it is just chatting the breeze.

It'd be like me going and throwing cakes at my husband's cricket club. I'd be the dick. Not the people I was annoying. Everyone would just forget about it and move on though.

calzone · 25/08/2015 15:02

With Mumsnet down, I embarked on a new Netflix series.

Damn you 6 series of Pretty little liars!!!!!!

Am hooked.

LynetteScavo · 25/08/2015 15:06

The site was down? ahhh, oh yes - i remember last night trying to get online and read about the ddos attack - so thanks meathead, i learnt something new after looking it up on wikki.

Schools go back soon....

Glitteryarse · 25/08/2015 15:12

The irritation level is like when your kids won't go out and play but would rather ear wigg when your friends round.

Go out and play Jeffrey !

wheelycote · 25/08/2015 15:13

What's the hacker trying to achieve? Just seems absurd.

helenahandbag · 25/08/2015 15:15

I was outraged this morning - I actually had to do work! In work! On company time!

It's just not good enough.

xavierfondue · 25/08/2015 16:12

Was it down? I didn't notice.

Ollienoodles45isbananas · 25/08/2015 16:45

boobubsmum · 25/08/2015 17:16

Whatabout · 25/08/2015 17:18

With all the extra traffic the Huns must have thought they were under a DDOS too Grin

MrsEvadneCake · 25/08/2015 17:18

I pinned things, did washing, played on minecraft and tweeted. I'm going to Gransnet if it happens again!!
