to want to hide a thread without clicking on it?

Or am I dim not to know if it's possible? In particular the "cockerel taunted to death" thread - I don't want to read a story of cruelty or see a grim image but would like to hide the thread so I'm not reminded of it every time it appears on my screen. There are probably other things I'd like to hide without reading, too.

OP posts:

Not sure about how to hide things but just to let you know that there's no bad images on that thread and the OP just posted a link, so if you did want to click to then hide you'll be able to.

The little blue dots next to the thread title click them and hide or watch options come up.

FatherReboolaConundrum · 21/08/2015 16:55

Completely agree with you OP. Bucky, there are no blue dots if you're on a computer rather than tablet/phone.

Not in my browser ?

I'm on laptop and since they made the changes a couple of weeks ago there's a grey minus sign at the end of each row in active messages, which hides the thread without clicking it.

You'll have to go into customise which you can't access on a phone it seems.

SoupDragon · 21/08/2015 17:25

In customise, you have the option to "show his tread link in active conversations".

Then you get a link to click next to each thread title in the list of active conversations that hides it.

SoupDragon · 21/08/2015 17:26

"Show hide thread link..."

Bloody autocorrect.

I bet you can if you load the desktop site.

I've just hidden that almost with my eyes closed. I just don't want to see that stuff - who needs upsetting like that and shouldn't it be in 'NEWS' really? I wish I could hide without clicking it.

Flossyfloof · 21/08/2015 18:01

I didn't realise that you could hide threads but I have been looking through the titles whilst trying to avoid looking at this one. I find cruelty of any kind very distressing and I hate it when people put things on here about animal cruelty, I don't understand why you would want to.
