is going to drive around the estate they should do every street? Not leave one out (ours) so as to torture DD with every jingly Greensleeves?

(I had some in the freezer but I'm getting a bit sick of coming up with reasons why he doesn't come here when he so easily could - he used to)

I have tried, but the way the sound carries it's hard to work out where he is, exactly.

It's only been my DCs that ever bought from him (not every day though - there are other kids in the street but they didn't often buy from him) so maybe he doesn't think it's worth the hassle of driving up and turning around. I can placate DD with other ice-cream, but she likes taking the money and being "grown up".

Ours hits the park up our street between 5.30 and 6 so usually just after I've dragged the kids in for dinner. They are desperate for ice cream from the ice cream van and we have never yet managed to coordinate it. the other day he was late, we were in the garden having had a BBQ and they had just opened ice creams from the freezer when he drove up the road. Ds1 was gutted.

Ah, but Regina - does he sell organic, low sugar, fat free ice cream? To be honest, I wouldn't bother, it's not exactly the healthy option.....

Joking aside - no, it's a bit mean - no chance of catching him and asking why? Seems to happen on our street as well, but it may well be because ours is the only one on the estate that has a 'dead end' road. It's OK for me though, I just sit in my front room, by the window, eating my Ben and Jerrys in front of all the kids playing outside .

DCs used to go mad waiting for the ice cream van at the beginning of this summer (he's never been round here before) so when he drove past they waved him down and instructed him to come down our road every day. He does, too. Track him down and tell him which street to come to.

I can't escape the fucker guy...I went to the playground yesterday afternoon, we'd been there barely 20 mins when I heard his tinkle and then he pulls up 20 feet away from me!!

And the worst of it is, a cone with sauce, sprinkles and a flake for just £1!!! He's cost me so much in the 6 years we've lived here...

They never make it to our street (it's a 90's road added on to what was a 70's cul-de-sac, off the end of a road of mostly bungalows). I am not sure they know there is a whole street of 4/ 5 bed houses with about 2 children under the age of 11 per house! Personally I'm glad. ... but i think they're missing out

Our ice cream man comes on a thursday night at 9pm, bloody 9pm!! Kids are always in bed and DH has to try and sneak out without any child hearing so we can have a 99

9pm! He must be catering for adults who are looking for alternatives to the 99's that you and your DH provide cover for

I always thought he was dodgy, makes a good 99 though

Our local ice cream van visits our street at 9pm, twice a week. No musical tunes are played though - he prefers to get out a whistle and blow 10,000 decibels out of the bastard for a good 15 seconds .
