AIBU?
To have told this man he's a complete twat

So today went to dd and ds to a fast food resturant after we went to cinema. I was in the que ordering and a middle age man starts shouting at the staff. This man was complaining about his burger. So we were giving our order to a young boy who was probably around 16 and this man starts shouting at the boy rudely and he was trying to explain that it was to do with the burgers seasoning (something only that line). So a more experiance member of staff begins to speak to the man meanwhile we are still ordering. To which the man then throughs the burger at the boy/other member of staff. Ive now got ketchup on my clothes and so does dd ds and the other member of staff.
So as the man leaves i tell him hes should be ashamed of his behavior and that hes a complete twat. I said to the boy does this happen often, he said quite regulary.
I know i probably should not have used the word twat but he was so rude to the boy/staff calling them stupid, thick and scum. DD and Ds are both teenagers so its not like they were young.

Yanbu OP, What a twat and how horrible if that staff member had been your child taking that at work!
I remember being a teenager and my dad taking me and my friend to mcdonald's as a treat after the pictures we had only been in there when 2 men started arguing with 2 young poor members of staff who were probably still at school.
Things got out of hand (over a mcChicken sandwich with mayo that shouldn't have had the mayo on it apparently!) and one of them picked the fire extinguisher of the wall and threw it behind the counter at the staff, My dad jumped in to protect the young girl it was aimed at in the process ripping his own jacket and taking a smack to the face, the staff didn't bat an eyelid! Said it happened all the time.
My mum was fuming when my dad told him hed got his coat torn and rung up the manager to complain about and we got a voucher for £10 to use in McDonalds. Still gets talked about at family parties - the day of the voucher from Maccy d's

I'm glad you stepped up! I imagine most of us have worked in retail or food outlets at some point in our lives, and most of us will have a story about a twatish customer (I had two tins of infant formula thrown at me when I was 16 and working a Saturday job in Boots). Sadly the staff can't tell the dickhead off, so good for you!
