Have ibs have been v constipated so am a n 4sachets movicol and did first clear out today.

Past couple of hours v v bad ibs cramps with unbearable stabbing/twisting pain above left hip going through to back. No position relieves it, stretching straight makes it even worse.

Am on 1.5 hour London commute to get dcs from holiday club but genuinely don't know how will manage.

Any suggestions gratefully received, will be at a Boits at station in about 10 mins (have taken colofac to no effect) so could buy meds

Buscopan Is a miracle.... Try it. Understand completely how you feel. My dh offers an amazing tummy rubbing that seems to help until
Buscopan kicks in.

I feel your pain op! Buscopan and colofac made no difference to me! A hot water bottle is the only thing that touches the pain but I'm now at a point where I've burnt and scarred the skin on my stomach from over using the hot water bottle so do be careful!
My step dad swears by peppermint tea/tablets and fibogel.

If you take a lot of codeine, do you need to take movicol daily? Cause then it would stop you getting bunged up in the first place (i usually take it daily).

Finding out what food is worst at messing up my ibs also works for me. Sticking to it is hard, but it helps a lot of the time (and as soon as i dont stick to it, i just start taking the movicol as a preventative measure!)

Wow, so many people here struggling with the fun of IBS! - I feel like we should start our own little MN support group Wink (no doubt someone will be along shortly to tell me there's one already)

I hope you're feeling better, OP - it's really shit (no pun intended) to feel like you're carrying a food baby. I'd offer hugs but you don't need squeezing at the moment. Jedi mind hugs?

Have you tried Senna OP?

Oh OP - you poor thing! Curl up with a hot water bottle when it all stops Flowers
