To change my travel plans?

I posted a while ago (on chat I think) to say I was worried about travelling to France via Calais (we're going through the tunnel). I'm going to be on my own with two children and I'm getting more nervous by the day. I have been looking at alternatives, but we're talking an extra 400-700 to change our plans and they are very awkward times.

I'm havering between waiting to see how things pan out and winging it once we get to France and going all out and changing our crossing completely.

We are travelling this Sunday btw.

Can u move to the ferry?

We came back via the tunnel on Saturday, it was absolutely fine. No delays, we actually got straight on an earlier train than we'd booked and we didn't see any migrants, either driving to the terminal or near the terminal itself. They keep the passenger traffic very separate from the lorries on the tunnel, unlike the ferry.
