I had a pretty serious MH crisis recently and been referred to a third party who run our NHS mental health services. With me? Well I had a letter today asking me to fill in a questionnaire about how I'm feeling.

5 tick box questions about whether I'm going to harm myself or others

5 tick box questions about previous medical history

Then a whole page asking for ethnic origin etc

AIBU to be underwhelmed and lack confidence in my local MH services?

IMO and E, no, YANBU.

Mr Dad had a nervous breakdown and the initial care he received when he took himself to our local A&E was great. The crisis team saw him daily and helped both he and my Mum get over the period and said if he ever felt the need again for their help, to get a referral through his GP. They were great at hand holding in this period.

He admitted some time after he needed help again. The GP reluctantly referred him and my Dad was told by the crisis team he wasn't feeling ill. How the hell would they know? Could they see inside his head?
