AIBU?

to ask if this is OTT?

Its my Mums birthday in a few weeks. It's her 50th. I'm an only child. Her Mum is no longer with us and she doesnt hear from her Dad anymore. She has little to do with her siblings.

I have bought her a necklace, 2 bracelets and a bottle of perfume for her birthday totalling £50. Would it be OTT to have some flowers delivered for her too?

She's your mum, there's no limit to how much you want to spoil her. I think your gifts and the flowers sound really lovely.

Not at all, crack on (as long as you can absolutely afford it). x

BlueBananas why the Hmm?

I just don't want to overface her with far too many gifts. I dont usually splash out so much to be fair but she's done at alot for us in the last year what with DS being here now and I want to spoil her.

Sounds lovely, but could you also spend some time with her, maybe go out for a meal? That would probably mean more than a load of presents.

Yay sounds lovely! Upload a picture

Do you have any plans for the big day?

We are off out for a family meal the night before her birthday and she and dad are staying at a hotel about 10 miles away with a 2 course evening meal for her birthday so it's tricky to add more food to the mix, or spend time with her as she will probably be setting off middayish on her birthday.

Piccies of the presents (the loveheart will say my Grandma and Me)

Lovely to be able to spoil her a bit.

I wouldn't do flowers as she's not going to be home for a couple of days.

Maybe see if you can sneakily pay to upgrade their hotel room?

Your mum is a very lucky lady!
You both deserve a bunch of flowers! ????

That all sounds lovely. I tend to buy my Mum pot plants for the garden rather than flowers because it's a shame when the flowers die.

I don't understand why you got a Hmm face either. Confused

Brilliant result ! I had a big bouquet of flowers yesterday and go away for a week ( on an aeroplane ) today . So sad not to enjoy them but DS WAS THRILLED WITH THEM , said he had never had flowers in his flat before . Ah bless him .

ha, Thanks everyone. Potted plants are a no go - her horse sized dog thinks they are salad garnish Confused

I might just buy her some flowers as a because anyway Smile
