Any other embarrassing Mums being unreasonable out there?

I joined in a party dance at the year 6 leavers disco. Clearly I am excruciatingly embarrassing, so much so that we had to leave immediately, an hour before it ended.

Any other totally embarrassing Mums showing up their kids out there who want to share their tales?

No tales myself but that will certainly be something to add to any future speeches!

What is cool beans all about? DH says it all the time!

I believe it is a parent's duty to embarrass their children on every possible occasion. I've always done my best to fulfil this obligation.

I can embarrass my Capital Radio, pop-loving 15yo DD just by winding down the windows in the car and playing Rammstein, or Iron Maiden, or Linkin Park, etc. At some volume

I used to have to meet DD round the corner from her choir rehearsal as my car was just so embarrassing! I can't remember if it was the Morris Minor or Mini Clubman - quite a few years ago…..

It would appear I am neither "sick" nor "safe" innit tho.

The glorious irony is that the Nicki Grahamesque flounce out was noticed by the entire church hall while my "embarrassing" dance moves ne're raised an eyebrow.

Not me, but my flipping mother turned up to my sports day when I was at school wearing her old pe kit (she'd attended the same school) and running spikes ready for the parents race. She thought it was hilarious. I still cringe remembering it.

Oh, and also on my 16th birthday we had a posh meal out with parents and all my friends and at one point she stood up and rapped 'go sausage it's your birthday' in the style of 50cent.

I think it is our duty in life to embarrass our DC.

I have lost count of the number of hats my DD has told me I can't wear when we are out together. Especially the really cunning one that folds up like a fan when you are not wearing it - I am rather fond of that one. Yet it seems the few hats she does approve of she ends up borrowing and, dammit, they look better on her than me. Until she loses them

Always always shout something like " love you, mummy's little soldier' at the school gates.

Try and hold their hands while walking along.

Our Morris Minor was a piss green Traveller ... used to hate it, everyone else's parents had Manta GTEs! Mind you, 30 years on I still have it , and my DS loves it

ds1 aged eight told me i didnt need to hold his hand today whilst walking into school he will happily hold my hand when he isnt near his friends!
