I need help, please! FB security related...

Posted also in chat before anyone mentions it. I really need help on this one. Not often I throw myself to be flayed alive on AIBU.....
When DH & I relocated abroad 8 yrs ago we set up a joint FB account for family & close friends to share pics of baby & bump (now 7 & 8!). We used both our names, eg JohnJaneSmith.
FB have locked us out of our account, we have to upload passport etc ID to gain access. 1) my passport will be Jane Smith, not John. 2) more importantly I do not want to upload all my passport details to FB. 3) I have all my DD's baby pics etc on my account. I want them back!! Can anyone tell me how to get access to my account to delete it? TIA

Not what you want to hear but deleting an account won't remove anything. Facebook will still have them. If you ever reactivate the account everything will all still be there.
They are being really odd about people using their real names at the moment. Someone I know had to show proof of marriage to change her name on Facebook when she got married.

I can't even access our account until I can provide a passport that says I am JohnJaneSmith. My passport says I am Jane Smith (names changed). WTF. That means I can never access my old account to delete personal info etc... I understand bringing in new security settings etc but a bit of advance warning would have been nice

If FB have locked you out, it's because someone has reported your account as having a false name.
Unfortunately, you won't be able to access it again without proving who you are.
This happened to a friend of mine (jointly named account with her DH) and she had to change the name to just hers, and upload her driving license.

My driving licence & passport are fairly random, I live in an overseas UK territory. I don't want to be more precise than that. I don't think FB will accept them, I just want access to my account to shut it down. I want to get my DDs baby pics & ditch the rest. I really fucking hate fb right now. Bastards the fucking lot of them...

You won't get access unless you verify your account. If you can't provide ID in the right name, you may not be able to verify the account.
You gave permission for Facebook to hold on to your data even if you delete your account, and you promised to use your real name and to forfeit your account if you failed to do so.
A solicitors letter asking for the account data to be wiped might work, but as you've agreed that they can have your data, it's not guaranteed too. They absolutely won't send you any photos from the account.
I work with them and was hoping I could point you in the right direction for help, but you've broken a "critical" Facebook rule and now you want to do two things that are totally unheard of.

The thing you did wrong was not to use a name that can be verified i.e. not your own name.
I'm sure facebook is able to accept documents from any country as they have users all over the world.
As others have said you will need to change the name to get your photos. As I understand it someone who knows you must have reported you, have you fallen out with anyone recently?
