Garden with no fence boundaries

I stay in a converted building split into houses and flats. There is not much outside space connected to the other units but I have the front corner which has a side and front garden. We do not have any fences or dividers but you can see what goes where.

Every night this week there had been a 10 or 11 yr old boy kicking a ball on our garden space. At this point I would like to point out that I would have absolutely no problem with it if he or his parents had knocked the door and asked if it was ok.

I know this sounds daft but Aibu to think if you want to play in my my garden at least ask.

Can't you plant stuff in it, and perhaps have a border? Or does your lease require you to maintain it as lawn?

How do you see 'what goes where' if there are no fences or dividers?

If I were you I would have just asked him could he please play somewhere else as that is my garden. If there are no discernible boundaries he may think the whol garden is communal space.

It's just a sort of there's a small garden and path in front of each door. Then there's the space in front of my my window and door. Thanks collaborate, I think I will put something down to show boundaries more clearly. Like I say, I don't have an issue with kids playing there if they ask. Obviously if my Dd wants to play at the same time I'll ask them to leave but I feel unreasonable asking them to stop just cause it's my bit of garden. Although, if an unknown child turned up in my last house which had an enclosed garden I wouldn't hesitate to turf them out lol.
