with

getting posts to go bold when I try to follow the instructions below on how to do so ? I do what it says, with asterix either end .. and still no bold

And yep I have plenty of other things to fret about , but it is a tad annoying

Make sure you don't put a space between the asterisk and the letters

bold --> no spaces
not bold --> spaces

Can you try it here so we can see what you might be doing wrong

Don't you have to do the asterisks before and after each word?

Also, if you have several paragraphs and want to bold, italicise, underline or strike them all out, you need to put the relevant symbol at the beginning and end of each paragraph.

Oh - and you can preview your post, to check if it has worked - I did, with my last post, because it would be the height of irony if I failed to hold/underline/whatever correctly, on a thread where I was trying to show odd to help someone learn how to do it.

But with asterix each end, no space . I just done the above with asterix that now appear missing

Elephantfan - no, you can bold whole sentences with just one asterisk at the beginning and one at the end - honest.

That looks bold to me, does it not show as bold to you?

DP has come home and asked me to stop obsessing over bold . I am at a loss so going to have a quick talk through day with DP . Poor sod walked miles today.

If you're on the phone app the bold font shows as normal. At least it does for me anyway.
