WIBU to re-send work email?

Basically, my question is this: I received a job offer on Monday.
Job will be based abroad, completely different time zone (which is relevant to my AIBU - think South-East Asia), most communication has been going on via email.

So, on 6 July, around midnight my time, I received the finalized job offer via email. I replied promptly the following morning, Tuesday, stating my acceptance and asking a couple of questions.

It's now Thursday afternoon and I haven't heard anything back yet. Would I be unreasonable to re-send the email, maybe adding a couple of lines saying something along the lines of "not sure this reached you the first time, I'm re-sending just in case".

Still, I realize I'm a very anxious person, so maybe it'd come across as OTT? Any input appreciated!

Just resend it!

GinUpGirl · 09/07/2015 14:44

Yeah, resend.

yes definitely resend it - if anything you will come across as keen and engaged. - you can always say "i also had a couple of further Questions ...."

congratulations on the job!

TheAuthoress · 09/07/2015 14:53

I would pretend I had more questions (make one up!!) and forward the original email, with a note saying something like 'further to my acceptance e mail below, I also wanted to ask about ....." And if they didn't receive the first one they'll have it now. May also refresh someone's memory that they haven't got back to you!

Resend.

I didn't, when I was waiting to hear from my job. I waited an agonising 7 days, then chased it up, and they hadn't received my reply. I definitely sent it. And that was in the UK!

Resend it asap so they can look at it when they start work tonight [our time].

It could just be that the hiring manager is away for a few days.

Thanks, everyone! I have just re-sent it! Smile

Sorry to hijack thread, but how long should you wait after an interview before chasing the outcome? My own fault I should have asked at the interview when I'd hear. It was a normal Q&A interview, anyone who passes that would get to stage 2 which is a task. I had my interview on Monday and keep staring at my phone waiting for it to ring!

In your case She, I'd email them tomorrow afternoon. Not too sure why - I've not exact science - but it gives them a bit of a push to get back to you early next week if they haven't sorted it by the weekend.
