to think this is normal..right? c section related

Ive never been to the doctor about this because I have genuinely believed this is how c sections were supposed to be like afterwards, but I mentioned it to a colleague and fellow member of c sect club and she looked at me and said it was absolutely not.
So, had an emergency section 3 years ago, it healed quickly/neat etc.
However I dont need the toilet in the same way anymore, it just doesnt feel like a full bladder and more like my scar feels stretched, so I can be bursting but feel no urgency at all iyswim?
Also (and I realise this sounds like a good thing! ) I havent had a period pain at all, no cramps, although do have periods.
I genuinely thought this was normal, after all they do cut you open and have a good old rummage around in there.

I had this exact thing, but only for a few months after my second c section. I think it's definitely worth going to your gp about this. Sounds like nerve endings not healing to me (not an expert!)

Its not something I've had after mine, but you are warned there can be nerve damage, it sounds like that to me

I've had 2 c/s but haven't experienced anything like you describe. I agree it's worth going to the GP.

I can only share my own experience. I had a section last year and I've not had period pains since. I put it down to the pregnancy rather than the section. No urge to ore is more worrying and may be linked to the catheterisation rather than the section. I'd get that checked out by real doctors rather than 'mn specialists'b

Same as rusty, it lasted about 2 months for me and I had he same after a spinal block so I think it's related to the epidural / block. It sounds like you may have some nerve damage for it to last so long.

Doesn't sound normal to me. I still feel the need to pee and get period pains.

I've had 2 C-sections.

Id never seen it as a problem at all but colleague pointed out that I could have something the matter years down the line and not know about it because I wouldnt be in any pain.
Feeling a little bit silly for not questiining it Blush

I don't have what you describe, but my feelings around weeing have changed too - but, I have had a vaginal prolapse where the bladder leans onto the gynae. muscles and pushes everything out of shape, so perhaps you should get checked out/start doing pelvic floor exercices in a hurry!

My peeing has changed since I had EMCS 20 months ago. I feel no urge to go until my bladder is so full it could burst. I get no feeling of needing to pee until that point. It feels like my bladder and pelvic floor are super tight or something? It is hard to explain. It is improving very slowly now but I didn't think it was particularly abnormal.

I have not had caesarean and get the urge to wee about a million times a day Blush so can't comment on that.

Having lighter and less painful periods is very normal after a vaginal or caesarean birth though.

I don't think this sounds right OP. You should probably get it checked. How long do you think you could last without going for a wee? How do you know you need to go or do you just go every few hours? I think I'd be worried about bladder damage.

I've had two emcs and after both experienced what you describe but it was temporary and to do with the nerves healing and some leftover numbness from the spinal block. It resolved over a few weeks. The sensation of needing to wee is still different tbh but that's most likely due to the adhesions I have. Ovulation and period pains feel different too. It's just a slightly different configuration and some stubborn adhesions. I still have the sensation of needing to wee, it's just slightly different to before I had children.

I had this at the beginning but just for a couple of months. Out of interest, were you in pain after the CS?

I've had 3 c-sections but haven't experienced these symptoms. Definitely get it checked out. I know someone whose bladder was left in the wrong place (for want of a more technical description) after a c-section, perhaps it could be due to something like this?

I had a c-section and although I feel the need to wee (more frequently as I get older!) I have a weird patch on my tummy at one end of the scar which has no feeling in it. I can pinch it, or even stick a pin in it - I tried once out of curiosity - and it's completely numb. It looks normal, though.

I'm not bothered by it but I assume it's something to do with nerve damage.
Yours sounds more serious - I'd mention it to the GP or practice nurse if I were you.

I had a section 18 months ago and don't have the same feelings you described. I don't seem to know that I need the loo until I stand up though, don't notice it anywhere near as much when I'm sitting down!

I had a few weeks when I couldn't tell that my bladder was full and I had to remember to go regularly. Those nerve endings must have grown back but the ones around my scar didn't. I still can't feel anything touching the skin around it 12 years on.

Three sections here OP and have never had what you describe. Judging from the responses on the thread it would seem that your symptoms are not usual. Go to your GP and get checked out.

2 sections and not experienced any of that. My youngest is 10 and if I get out of bed too quickly I still get an agonising pain where my scar is. I think they stitched me up wrongly. I also am very tender where the epidural/spinal was.

I have had three (1 emc, 2 planned) and don't have these symptoms though I swear, if I lean the wrong way when lying down, I can feel my internal organs move about oddly.
