Why the hurry? Why not just take your time and make it nice?

Because customers are waiting?

Because part of the competition is having to plan the meal to be ready in a set time?

Because in a proffessional setting you are up against the clock, customers won't just sit and wait all day while you leisurely potter in the kitchen.

And it adds to the drama for tv.

Hmmmm. I not convinced. It just irritates me.
